Forum: Patient engagement
Project LEAD® is a training program which equips individuals with the skills and knowledge to be effective advocates in the wide range of local and national forums where breast cancer decisions are made. It is delivered by the National Breast Cancer Coalition (NBCC), within their Center for Advocacy Training. Founded in 1991, the NBCC’s mission is to end breast cancer through the power of action and advocacy by January 1, 2020.
Project LEAD® graduates bring an educated consumer perspective and critical thinking skills to the important issues and controversies in breast cancer. They are likely to go on to:
A variety of courses are offered, ranging from two-day introductory workshops to intensive six-days courses with a competitive application process. They also provide a wide range of online resources to support continuing education for their graduates with between 90 and 120 graduates participating in their webinars.
