Egbert Schillings was appointed Chief Executive Officer of WISH in April 2014. Mr Schillings is a seasoned business leader with 20 years' experience in the global healthcare industry, across payers, provider systems, best practice research, and consulting. As Chief Executive Officer, Mr Schillings is committed to leading the evolution of WISH to become a research-based but action-focused global community of like-minded leaders, all equally dedicated to improving healthcare globally through accelerating the innovation cycle for the benefit of populations everywhere.
Previously, he was SVP of Client Service for McKinsey’s Leading Systems Network, which convened health systems globally for collective performance improvement. He has deep expertise in performance improvement, leadership development, and communications in health care systems, as well as business development and client service.
Prior to joining McKinsey, Mr Schillings served as Managing Director at Kaiser Permanente in Oakland, California, the United States’ largest private integrated health care system. He was also a Senior Director at The Advisory Board Company, a provider of best practice research, business intelligence, education, and consulting services to the healthcare sector. In Washington, DC, he worked on public health and insurance industry legislation for The American Lung Association and for the Health Insurance Association of America (HIAA). Egbert also served as a legislative aide to the Honorable Lee H. Hamilton on the staff of the House International Relations Committee in the U.S. House of Representatives.
Mr Schillings received his degree at Freie Universität Berlin and was a Fulbright Scholar in Political Science at George Washington University in Washington, DC.
